In collaboration with the brilliant students of Townsend Harris High School, The
Patriot Group had its first 5k 9/11 Memorial Walk. Three hundred students, victim's
families, and other supporters all came together at Kissena Park for this incredible
event. Each walker had a lanyard of the name and picture of one of the 343
firefighters who perished on 9/11 as they walked. Prior to the event, the walkers did
research on their specific firefighter's heroic life. In a "Reflections" book they
wrote about what they learned about these men. Thank you to all the students for
your tremendous hard work and dedication to keeping our heroes spirits alive. Your
commitment to humanity is evident in the work you have accomplished.
